Alternative agriculture: action and entrepreneuship. The case gives: "Herdade do Freixo do meio" the south Portugal

Abstract

I present and discuss the specific case of alternative agriculture in southern Alentejo in Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal). The text was produced upon fieldwork carried out in winter 2015. The hypothesis proposed is that Herdade do Freixo do Meio is a suggestive and privileged research laboratory which contributes for understanding new forms of rural and agricole development, as well as new modes of alternative agriculture that thrive in Brazil and in Portugal. The experience is thought from the point of the formation of the agent in the context of a new economy with potential subjectivity and knowledge. Therefore, this is a new narrative of sociability in which the social agent builts his history in the corse of valuing a “way of life” which, by itself, has been valued.
