Abstract

This article analyses “O outro”, by Rubem Fonseca, in dialogue with some readings of this author’s work. The objective is to place this tale in the historical context and in part of the Fonseca fictional production. The consideration of the differences and dissensions of strong critical positions is important for understanding the fiction of author of Feliz ano novo, one of the great references of contemporary Brazilian literature.
