Migration in the southern cone: policies, actors and integration processes

Abstract

This paper addresses the complex relationship between two processes: migration and regional integration. The Southern Cone integration is not exclusively economic, so migration within the process could be considered the socio-cultural element that will enable a deepening of the union. This study makes a comparative analysis of migration policies in Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile through the analysis of legal and political discourses, linking them to the regional process.
