RESUMEN: La tecnología es una parte indispensable del proceso de en-
señanza y aprendizaje de idiomas, incluida la evaluación. Este estudio ana-
liza herramientas y plataformas tecnológicas en la evaluación y pruebas
lingüíscas en línea desde diversas perspecvas. Explora tanto las evalu-
aciones formavas como sumavas en pruebas aplicadas en el aula y a
gran escala, así como herramientas en línea que facilitan la evaluación
alternava. Se ilustran modelos como la Evaluación Basada en Computa-
dora (CBA) y las Pruebas Adaptavas por Computadora (CAT). También se
examina la inteligencia arcial, que ene un efecto revolucionario en la
evaluación lingüísca, junto con las plataformas actuales. Asimismo, se
abordan cuesones crícas como la abilidad, validez y crícas sobre la
autencidad, interacvidad, impacto y praccidad de la evaluación en lí-
nea, presentando ventajas y desventajas. El estudio busca demostrar cómo
la tecnología transforma la evaluación lingüísca y ofrecer perspecvas
relevantes para diseñadores de pruebas, docentes y responsables de polí-
cas educavas.

ABSTRACT: Technology has an indispensable part of the language learning
and teaching process, including assessment. This study invesgates tech-
nological tools and plaorms in on-line language tesng and assessment
within various aspects. It explores both formave and summave assess-
ments at classroom-based and large-scale tests and also on-line tools ha-
ving a facilitang eect on alternave assessment. The models, such as
Computer-Based Assessment (CBA) and Computer-Adapve Tesng (CAT),
are further illustrated. Arcial intelligence, which has a revoluonary
eect on language assessment, is scrunized with the current plaorms.
Also, crical issues in language assessment, such as reliability and validity
issues and basic cricism of on-line language assessment based on authen-
city, interacvity, impact, and praccality, are presented with the advan-
tages and disadvantages. Consequently, the study aims to illustrate how
language assessment is transformed through technology and oer signi-
cant insights for test designers, educators, and policymakers to enhance
tesng pracces.

RESUMO: A tecnologia é uma parte indispensável do processo de ensino
e aprendizagem de línguas, incluindo a avaliação. Este estudo invesga
as ferramentas e plataformas tecnológicas na testagem e avaliação onli-
ne de línguas em diversos aspectos. Explora tanto a avaliação formava
quanto a somava em testes realizados em sala de aula e em larga esca-
la, bem como ferramentas online que facilitam a avaliação alternava.
Modelos como a Avaliação Baseada em Computador (CBA) e a Avaliação
Adaptava por Computador (CAT) também são ilustrados. A inteligên-
cia arcial, que tem um efeito revolucionário na avaliação linguísca, é
analisada juntamente com as plataformas atuais. Além disso, questões
crícas na avaliação linguísca, como problemas de conabilidade e va-
lidade e crícas básicas à avaliação online com base em autencidade,
interavidade, impacto e pracidade, são apresentadas com suas vanta-
gens e desvantagens. Consequentemente, o estudo visa ilustrar como a
avaliação linguísca está sendo transformada pela tecnologia e oferecer
insights signicavos para designers de testes, educadores e formulado-
res de polícas para aprimorar as prácas de testagem.
