Abstract

The Amazon is the result of different moments in the formation of the Brazilian nation, from contact among peoples of different lifestyles, going through subjugation of locals, abolition of slavery and various tensions in the 20th century. Guamo district is located in the outskirts of the of city of Belm, capital city of Par state. It is the locusof difference among local, national and international tensions. This study focused on urban youngsters from the outskirts of Belm, a city reflecting its roots and history from the forest in the everyday urban life.
