Second language acquisition: the state of the art of brazilian sign language

The present work presents a synthesis of the academic products that settle in the field of second language acquisition (SLA) and that deal with the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). To do so, it makes a temporal cut from the years 2008 to 2018, summarizes the quantity of productions, and briefly presents the content of the works that are available in virtual catalogs. In the part that deals with the quantitative expression, it organizes the productions taking into account the year and the academic genres, as well as the distribution of subjects that are debated in the field of SLA in studies involving the Libras. Finally, he notes that in 2016 and 2018 there were the largest number of publications, and these deal with language policies. In the next section, the works are summarized and presented in five main categories: language policies, pedagogical practice for the teaching of Libras as a second language (L2), learning of Libras as L2, the presence of Libras in the scenario of basic education and the teacher of Libras as L2
