Abstract

The Transaction Cost Theory (TCT) is considered one of the major contributions for the micro-institutions surveys and for the studies about the firm behavior. However, it is not free for contestations. This work has two main objectives. The first is to present the TCT main contributions. The second is to realize a discussion about the limits of this approach under an evolutionist author’s perspective. The results suggest that, despite your limitations, the TCT has admittedly satisfactory explanations for some situations and, moreover, your approach isn’t incompatible with the evolutionist approach.
