Abstract

The present article sought to analyze the debate between orthodox and heterodox economists through articles published in the Folha de São Paulo in the year 2016. The analysis was developed in two stages, the first one through the different research methodologies developed by Karl Popper, Thomas Kuhn, Imre Lakatos, Milton Friedman, Deirdre McCloskey and Pérsio Árida, applied to the arguments used by the economists in their debate and, in the second stage of analysis, the author's own opinion about the debate was presented, based on his knowledge and personal preferences, in addition to the arguments considered more sensible of the six authors of scientific methodology used in this article.
