Abstract

In poetry produced in the city of Belo Horizonte at the end of the twentieth century, Carlos Ávila ‘s verses stand out as they can provide the reader with a rereading and synthesis of the influences of the main movements of the twentieth century - Modernism, Concretism, Marginal Poetry - while at the same time moving towards their own diction, signaling elements of contemporary poetry in the 21st century. This is done explicitly and consciously from an aesthetic project declared and verified in the observation and analysis of some texts published by the poet.
