Abstract

In seeking to understand the meaning and reasons of the untranslatability, the present study makes use of a positive understanding of this phenomenon. Investigating the importance of several poetics of distrust, that since the avant-garde period, especially due to the surrealist revolution of the understanding of the object, used the poetic language in its concrete aspects in a political fight against the aggressiveness of the oppressor, the reflection transfers the distrust to the phenomenon of translatability itself, as well as to the omnipresence of translation in the contemporary world. In fact, in different political and linguistic contexts Angélica Freitas, Herta Müller and Stanisław Barańczak used the elements of understanding the notion of system in its relationship with the human body to warn about the subjective threat and the problem of depersonalization. The fashion system, described in the context of the structuralist semiology by Roland Barthes, analogous to the system of objects analyzed by Jean Baudrillard, becomes a dialogical element of the post-avant-garde poetics of collage and photomontage, in which the happy Babel affirmed by the multilingual poetics corresponds to a happy error of the poetics of chance. By modifying the connotations of body parts, the fashion in the surrealist avant-garde became a component of the poetics of horror.
