Abstract

Based on the short stories published in the Macau Literary Festival by contemporary writers Isolda Brasil and Chico Pascoal, this article aims to analyse the construction of the image of Macanese women, using the methodology of imagery, namely by D.H Pageaux and contributions from the area of anthropology, namely João de Pina-Cabral. The shaping mechanisms and the influenced origins of those images will be analysed. They are part of a stereotyped vision rooted in the cultural imagery of the past.
