One of the most stimulating segments of Hebrew literature is that related to women’s writing. The aim of this text is to compare two important moments of that writing: its beginning, when such activity was considered peripheral, at the end of 19th and beginning of the 20th century, parallel to the arrival of the first immigration group to Palestine, focusing on writers Nehama Pohachewsky, Hemda Ben-Iehuda and Shoshana Shababo, and the present moment, when women writers are in the center thanks to the vitality they provide to this writing, as in Orly Castel-Bloom’s case. Some historical and literary intermediate aspects will be included in order to make understandable the basic connection between women authors and the life in the country.Downloads
