Abstract

The present article aims to show the relationship between mathematics and the work of Italo Calvino, Jacques Roubaud, Jorge Luis Borges and Georges Perec. Among them, only Roubaud is a mathematician which has not prevented the others to use different resources in the mathematic field. Calvino, Roubaud, Perec were members of the Oulipo, a group that used mathematics systematically and consciously preparing several of their works. On the other hand, when it comes to Borges works, he applied several mathematical concepts to compose many of his texts. The mathematics of Borges is a fiction tool differently from the oulipianos who used math in a structured way.
