The underground of one and of the other: Freud in Dostoiévski or Dostoiévski in Freud?

Abstract

From the starting point of Freud´s radicalization of the romantic conception of the subject as well as of the strong ties the psychoanalyst kept with literature and art in general throughout his life, we propose, in this text, a parallel between Notes From Underground and psychoanalysis, aiming at two major targets: to ilustrate what psychoanalysis understands by subject and to show Dostoievski´s work as an early development of the concept of subject that would be developed by psychoanalysis later.
