Abstract

In this paper we try to show how Nietzsche’s philosophy determines the notion of the tragic and the conception of tragedy in Federico García Lorca’s literature, especially since the statement about his “new spiritualist way”. The nietzschean interpretation of Greek tragedy and his reflections on the essence of tragedy will mark tragedies like Bodas de sangre, Yerma and El público, a revolutionary attempt of tragedy. Nietzschean filosophy is also the basis of the conference “Juego y teoría del duende”, the most systematic exposition of Lorca’s “new spiritualist way”.
