Abstract

This article discusses how the Fantastic Literature of the twentieth century, which the poetics of Franz Kafka would be the starting point, promotes, in spite of the construction of an unusual world, mimetic representation of the real, here metonymically figured in the modern urban space, home of today’s man. Thus, this genre is argued in its execution nineteenth century as an important means of discussion of issues relevant to contemporary life. To this end, recovers, as an allegory of the test developed here, the flâneur’s image, character whose function is to read the metropolis and that in our essay is to represent the analytical look that Fantastic Literature post-Kafka aims release about reality.
