Abstract

This essay proposes a reading of women´s social marginalization by the oppressiveness of the patriarchal power in Silvia Jacintho´s and Astrid Cabral´s memorialist poems, through a feminist perspective of questioning the genre ideology. The starting point for this reading is a brief reflection on ideology and genre construction, as well as the social organization in the relation between the sexes. Denouncements of women historical exclusion in images of confinement, resistance, traps, and demolitions in the referred poets will be literarily approached. Keywords: Ideology. Genre. Woman. Patriarchalism. Brazilian contemporary poetry.
