Abstract

The following article aims to provide a reading of the concept of assimilation in six books of descendants of Jewish immigrants in Chile and Mexico. This process is called assimilation and tends to include two components. The first is the weakening and loss, within, of the complex of rules and culture that distinguishes the group; the second is the absorption and incorporation of norms and habits derived from the culture of other groups.
