Abstract

Our paper focuses on the reception of Batouala in the press (magazines and newspapers) between October 1921 and June 1922. The aim is to analyse, in the discourses of the columnists and journalists, the strong imbrication of the political and literary fields. In which literary history should the man and his work be placed? How was the award of the Goncourt Prize received?
