Reflections on the french novel of the 20th century

Abstract

The article is a refl ection about the evolution of the novel in the 20th century, its transformations with emphasis for the differences between the fi rst and the second parts of the century, both in content and form, evidencing that the crisis of the novel in the 20th century is part of the general crisis of our planetary culture in search for new referentials.
