Childhood and youth to a Nineteenth century autobiography: F.-R. Chateaubriand

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the childhood context presented in Memoires d’outre-tombe by F.-R. Chateaubriand, and to discuss the impact of literary procedures within a narrative that plays with the elements of origin and formation of the protagonist in order to create the necessary dialogue between an identity considered as being unstable and a changing society.
