Abstract

The following article aims at presenting and analyzing some aspects and themes in Charles Baudelaire’s critical writings, mainly in his works, The painter of modern life and My heart naked. The emergence of critical texts reveals a trend in European literature dated from the 19th century and corresponds to a birth of a movement of critical authors: poets and other writers that, by exposing their ideas and impressions, provide theoretical and aesthetical hints to guide the reading and support the studying of their poetical and fictional production – and, sometimes, of literature in general.
