Abstract

Among Rimbaud’s first known texts, there is a school notebook written around 1866, the latin poems and the school works of translation. The interest of these texts lies in the fact that through them it is possible to identify and trace the first manifestation of certain motives and stylistic elements which, poetically reelaborated, will integrate Rimbaud’s great poems. In this article some examples of poetic recreation from early texts are provided, as an attempt to show the importance of pastiche in Rimbaud’s literary method. Keywords: French poetry. Arthur Rimbaud. Cahier de Dix Ans. Latin poems. Pastiche.
