The book and the newspaper: the relation between literature and the book according to Mallarmé

Abstract

After the analysis of the relations that Mallarmé establishes between the newspaper and the book, political, social and poetic writing, we can reconstruct the entire universe, social and historical, where this poetry takes place. In this historical context, we intend to distinct the relation that Mallarmé establishes between literature and society, in relation with the French critical texts on this subject, such as the works of Bourdieu.
