The ludic and the surrealistic experience of jaques prévert: “cortége”’s lecture

Abstract

Considering Jaques Prévert’s surrealistic heritage, we will try to show in this article how these influences appear in his poetry. For such purpose, we chose to analyze the poem “Cortège”. We believe poetry, especially Prévert’s poetry, has a deep connection with the conceptions of game and play, so we are also analyzing Johan Huizinga’s theory about the ludic. We will attempt to defi ne, through the study of the poem “Cortége”, the connection between this ludic element and the surrealistic influences that appear in Prévert’s poetry.
