Abstract

In this interview, Jaime Preciado discusses some economicpolitical, social and cultural aspects of contemporary Latin America, with emphasis on Mexico. In this regard, Preciado speaks about the position of this country in the world system and presents some reflections on its educational and cultural context, pointing out the impacts of social networks on politics, even alerting to the need for Social Sciences to update the analysis of the phatic powers. Throughout the interview, there are also comparisons between Mexico and Brazil.
