Abstract

This article aims to make a survey of the path and the perspectives of the Bolsonaro government in the environmental area. It is based on the premise that aspects indicated on the campaign are against the environmental agenda built in Brazil since at least the 1980s, which largely followed the parameters of the international environmental regime. Thus, it is understood that the changes made by the government in the environmental area is a consequence of the lack of planning in the economic area that, far from seeking alternatives, tends to reinforce the tendency of reprimarization of the economy, mainly based on the exploitation of the natural resources of the accelerated and without major regulations. Added to this, the government’s view, skeptical of issues related to climate change and global warming, corroborates to strengthen the perception of a future environmental policy dismantling.
