Abstract

It is discussed in the article how the Chinese economy, which has a strong relationship with Latin American countries (among them Brazil), seeks new development strategies through the green economy, the expansion of the domestic market and the promotion of public policies of science and technology. This new pattern would seek to avoid the “middle income trap,” which is typical of countries that seek to overcome their peripheral status in the international economic system.
