Science as developmentist vocation: the public writing of José Leite Lopes

Abstract

The objective of the article is to discuss the formation of a "ideological commitment" with science during the decades of 1050-80 in Brazil. The central argument is that this process assumes the idea of development, mixed with the developmentalist ideology. This suggest the workes of the brazilian theoretical physicist José Leite Lopes publhished during period, revinning and analysing this article as pieces of the normalization of the commitment with science.
