Abstract

The text discuss the articulation between the nationaldevelopmentism found in the cultural output of the decade of 1950 and the lineup, essentially academic and scientific, proposed by the so-called “school of sociology uspiana”, under the command of Florestan Fernandes. Despite the apparent incongruity of the two propositions, the article intends to show that, in the situation of ideological and political radicalization that took place in the period, and because of the reading of Marx employed by the disciples of Fernandes, a displacement of that group for a position of left could happen, what has made it’s discussion closer to the hegemonic subjects of that time.
