Abstract

Since the sixties the middle class has been invading the "umbandista" religion and, for this reason, there have been some alteralions in the cult, in the doctrine and in the temple organization, The indian has become the central figure in the religious practice, not the real indian but the one who was idealized by the Brazilian romantic movement.
