Proposals to the construction of another world: the 5th World Social Forum case

Abstract

The article makes an analysis of the proposals presented during the 5th World Social Forum, published in the website “Memoria Viva de los foros Sociales” (Live Memory of Social Forums) [www.memoria-viva.org], and of those exposed in the document “El llamamiento de los movimientos sociales a la movilización contra la guerra, el neoliberalismo, la explotación y la exclusión por otro mundo posible” (“The calling of social movements to the mobilization against the war, the neoliberalism, the exploitation and the exclusion, for another possible world”). It makes evident the importance that the ability of combining the local with the global has to social change (like in the transnational coalition between the actors). Finally, it concludes with a proposal of global action.
