Abstract

During the 1970’s, we notice that intellectual activities from researchers bonded to CEBRAP reveal their compromising with the construct of a new analytic way that might help the analysis about Brazilian reality. Thus, CEBRAP’s sociological production that reverberates during the first 1970’s phase points to the revision of certain hegemonic theories during the 1950’s and the 1960’s, which have lost its social meaning after 1964 coup d’état. The meaning of that production reflects not just on the analysis agenda about social thought, but also on the debates that search the understanding about Brazilian social and political reality. We can find in articles and essays publicized by the Centre a profuse material that allow us to enlist the debate, whereat we privilege three research programs pleaded by the Centre: State and Civil Society, Economy and Population Studies.
