Abstract
The text discusses emerging strains in quilombo remnant areas of São Paulo southeast, between collective action mediated by a social movement, and reinforced by a legal recognition of a collective land right, and multiple strategies of local agents, in order to deal with their uncertain social and economic condition, through an ethnographic approach to social networks, understanding these strains as critical to social policies aiming territorial development.
