Abstract

The present article aims to verify if territorial characteristics can influence in the possibilities of young people to dedicate exclusively to the studies. In Brazil, due to the institutional characteristics that connects the school to the market business, the individuals try to accumulate many years of studying as possible before entering in the business market. Sociology has been showing that it also depends on the familiar social origin. Our objective is to extend this quarrel inserting variables relative to the territory in our analyses. The empirical data are worked together with the microdata from the 2000 census (IBGE), which will be analyzed through multi-levels logit models. Keywords: Vocational formation.
