INTERSEÇÃO ENTRE AS ISOTOPIAS POLÍTICA E RELIGIOSA CRISTÃ NOS COMENTÁRIOS DE APOIO AO PRESIDENTE JAIR BOLSONARO

INTERSECTION BETWEEN POLITICAL AND CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS ISOTOPIES IN THE COMMENTS THAT SUPPORT THE PRESIDENT JAIR BOLSONARO

Abstract

Religious groups have been part of Jair Bolsonaro's support bases since presidential campaign in 2018 and still do today. Averse to progressive agendas and agreeing with a “gospel of results”, which defends principles of capitalism and liberalism, these individuals actively participate in political debate, especially on social medias. In the comments that support the president, these people use the overlap between the religious and the nationalism and promote what Fiorin (2013) called the sacralization of political discourse. So, this work verify the structure and functioning of the intersection between the political and the religious in the discourse of comments by supporters of President Bolsonaro. For this, has been analyzed, based on the theoretical framework of the discursive semantics of French Semiotics, the mechanisms of production of meaning in 267 comments in support the President that contained christian religious thematic elements, extracted from the video: ONU 2021: Presidente Jair Bolsonaro expõe verdades que desesperam a imprensa e a esquerda ($), on the official channel of Jair Bolsonaro on YouTube. Through the analysis, it was understood which are the main mechanisms, especially in the treatment of themes and figures, that these people use to express their support for the president. The main results reveal that the mechanisms used overlap the political and religious isotopies in the thematization of a holy war where the enemy is the one who doesn’t share Christian values, as well as, haw the political subject is sacralized in different degrees of intensity.
