Linguística popular. Práticas linguísticas sagradas. Práticas linguísticas profanas.Abstract
In this article, we first present the classification proposed by Marie-Anne Paveau (2005 and 2020) about the linguistic practices of non-linguists. According to the French author, these practices, formulated from a first classification proposal by Brekle (1989), can be thought of in four categories: prescriptive, descriptive, interventionist, and militant. In the sequel, we seek to add to these categories two more: sacred linguistic practices and the profane linguistic practices of non-linguists. Our wish is to contribute to the legitimization of popular linguistics in the Brazilian context.
