O tema do Antropoceno encontra-se entre os mais sérios desafios que a humanidade hoje enfrenta. Ignorá-lo tornou-se impossível dado o fato de que a crise climática hoje afeta o planeta e cada um de nós. Conhecer o problema é uma forma de conscientização e consequente busca de enfrentamento por mais modesta que seja. Este artigo tem por objetivo fornecer um panorama breve, mas amplo, das condições atuais que envolvem esse tema. Para isso, o artigo discorre sobre os trabalhos pregressos da autora, seguido de um levantamento e comentários críticos da literatura sobre o tema para terminar na necessidade de um repensamento profundo da ontologia do humano no contexto da crise.
