A reading about passional configuration in “Carta de herdade”

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a reading of the text “Carta de herdade”, by Florbela Espanca. Like conductor thread of our analysis, we select the passional universe of the discourse’s subject constructed by story. In this way, we cut away the sadness like passional configuration predominant in the subjetive’s horizon. More than this, we understand that the sadness is utilized by discourse’s subject like a argumentative strategy to convince the addressee to come back to the origin’s place. It permits us to reflect about a possible distort of the passional character of subject, this is, the passion can be “rationalized” – under letter’s form – like argumentative strategy. Like theoric embasament, we utilize the Semiotic Theory of passions elaborated by Greimas and Fontanille. Keywords: Modalization. Passion. Sensibilization.
