In the intersection communication/cognition permeated by the semiotic of Peirce, context contemplated in these considerations, we propose to inquire the actualization of qualities of feeling to an effective action of signs in the human mind. First, we make use of “The Law of Mind” by Peirce, to explain how the continuous field of feeling is established, considering the ideas about mathematical knowledge construction and of the real number. After this first step, we evaluate how Damásio’s ideas about feelings and emotions relate to Peirce’s ideas. We intend to confirm that the robustness of qualities of feeling is indispensable for the semiosis and the sharing of meanings in the processes of communication. The relevance of these considerations is to present the aspects of the qualities of feeling and to incite the idea about their role in cognition, which could imply in a review of the processes of communication. Keywords: Communication. Cognition. Signs. Feeling. Human Mind.Downloads
