This paper presents the evolution of Brazilian exports from 1999 to 2014, period under floating exchange rate regime, in order to identify their change through the analysis of the composition and performance of exports. To that end, it aims to analyze the participation by product class in the total export value, emphasizing the dynamics of indexes of price and quantum of exports. The work is theoretically based on Prebisch's ideas that exports growth is as a strategic aspect in order to boost economic growth in peripheral countries. The conclusion of this work is that the large share of commodities in total value of exports suggests reprimarization of Brazilian exports.Downloads
