This paper aims to disseminate the results of a research carried out in a micro company in the city of Rio Grande/RS on the benefits that the implementation of the Shewhart Methodology can have on the issue of Strategic Management of organizations, and on the economic viability of their processes. For this, the present study was based and described under two aspects: bibliographic and field. The microenterprise case study in the herbaceous sector has the following characteristics: it produces 80 units/day in 830-gram packages by hand, and brings the following problems: is its current production and packaging process reliable? Is the purchase of machinery worth R $ 10,000 (ten thousand reais) feasible, which would increase its production to 500 packages/day? Is the use of the Shewhart Methodology useful for the organization? After applying the statistical techniques made possible by the Shewhart Methodology, it was possible to observe that there are deviations observed in the specified weight for the final product, however, this is not very significant, because when using the control model of averages model () and amplitudes (R), for the analyzed samples, results were obtained within the expected for their respective Limits: Upper (LSC), Lower (LIC) and Central (LC), obeying the rules of ISO 8258, that is, the The current manual packaging process is under control and has acceptable quality, since the replacement of the manual production and packaging model with the automatic one would generate less variability in the process, however, it would have to be measured if this technical feasibility would be in accordance with economic viability, which in the case such methodology does not respond, being a limitation, in this case a market study will be necessary. As practical results, it can be seen that the Shewhart Methodology helps in the Strategic Management of Companies, mainly in the identification of a problem, in the prioritization and analysis of the causes and in the taking of corrective actions, without having to make large investments. However, it is necessary to highlight that the use of this methodology requires discipline and commitment from those involved so that all stages, actions and improvements identified are fulfilled and incorporated into the routine.
