Abstract

The article analyzes the construction of the character Antonino in the novel O filho de mil homens by portuguese author Valter Hugo Mãe, observing how the author represents a stigmatized view of the homosexual subject, with a narrative strategy that refers to social speech. The text reflects on the social and discursive construction of gender in a society of heteronormative order, using the theories of Butler (2010) and Hall (2016), as well as the analysis of the literary text, intending to discuss stigma, stereotyping and production of difference.
