Une mort très douce : life stories
Keywords:
Une mort très douce, Simone de Beauvoir, Memoirs,Abstract
It has been thirty years since Simone de Beauvoir passed away, but her presence has always remained constant due to her fictional works, her essays, which criticize the marginalized status of women, her existentialist philosophy, which encourages the individual to action, and her memoirs, which reveal her life as an element of analysis and social criticism. This paper thus aims to describe the way in which the author presents, in her autobiographical work Une mort très douce, her existential drama and the death of her mother, which leads her to the story of a woman’s life who managed to go beyond the limits of her time and her objectified condition to assume her freedom and recreate herself as a subject.Downloads
