Polyphony is a term about different simultaneous sounds. In general, when interpret this term we related it to Music, but your trivial meaning the it can refer to multiplicity and the interaction between different elements. This paper used the polyphony to indicate the variety of methods and approaches in the discussion about the ontology of listening. In other words, the objective is to understand the ontological listening through methodological multiplicity, highlighting the similarities and differences between the experiences of the composer and the listener. For this, we consider music as a narrative as it contains mediating operations between experience and discourse and movement can be interpreted involving both the composer and the listener, through the triple mimesis – configuration, prefiguration and refiguration. From this we can expose the dynamics between subjectivity and objectivity of musical experience and meaning in which the place has centrality because it is there that music is experienced and plays a fundamental role in the way it is perceived by the appreciator.
