This article seeks to explain what work is based on Ergonomics and the Psychodynamics of Work in order to stimulate a differentiated discussion of the term “Decent Work”, used by the International Labor Organization (ILO), with “biopsychosocial well-being”. provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), with analysis of articles 149 (Reduction to a condition analogous to slavery) and 149-A (Human Trafficking) of the Brazilian Penal Code and Normative Instruction No. 2/2021 of the Ministry of Labor (MT). The relevance of this work is justified due to the imprecision of the terminology adopted by the ILO, enabling Brazilian legislation, together with Ergonomics and Work Psychodynamics, to bring greater concreteness to it. Using the literature review methodology, it was possible to identify which work translates into the physical, cognitive and psycho-affective efforts of the worker, combining the prescribed work with the uniqueness of the activity. Thus, the ILO and WHO aim to guarantee a balance in the work-health relationship, while national legislation protects the integrity of workers through minimum guarantees, and also tools for monitoring, preventing and repressing slave labor and human trafficking. People from the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT) and ILO.
