Management of documents in municipalities

Abstract

The preservation of memory is the responsibility of government and throughout civil society. Preservation efforts include the organization, preservation and access to documentary sources. The archives are fundamental to the management of information and knowledge, as well as elements of consolidation and perpetuation of cultural identity. The vast amount of information contained in the documents that the government has requires the understanding and rationalization so that the administration, citizens and the preservation of memory can be treated in their fundamental interests.
