Implementation of social control in public administration of the county of Carrapateira-PB: the perspective of directors own

Abstract

This study represents an analysis of the operation of social control developed by managing councils of public management actions in Carrapateira - PB. Its goal is to understand members actions, from advisers percepction about their responsibilities within each council. Research relied on documentary analysis and literature, supplemented by interviews with 26 members of the various municipal councils, is characterized as a study of qualitative nature. Results revealed that levels of expertise of counselors is important to develop a good job. Also showed that subjects feel the need to gain technical skills for understanding financial reports accountings, besides the difficulty of active participation of members who do not belong to the local government, since by being unpaid, commonly do not comply strictly scheduled appointments on councils.
