Abstract

Based on the notion that the pandemic is a dysphoric discursive event (BERTRAND; DARRAULT-HARRIS, 2021), our general objective is to analyze, based on the precepts of Discursive Semiotics, the Practice of Religious Loyalty of the Novena do Perpétuo Socorro, by Campo Grande – MS, as a discursive phenomenon resilient to the pandemic. From this precept, our clipping is the online transmission of the novena on the YouTube channel “Perpétuo Socorro MS” in the year 2020. Our theoretical-methodological apparatus consists of discursive semiotics, specifically, from the tools of syntax and discursive semantics of the generative path of meaning, to identify the enunciative effects (FIORIN, 2016) of the present significant practice (FONTANILLE, 2008). Furthermore, as the analysis deals with online discourse, we also rely on the precepts of Barros (2015), with the notion of discursive complexity on the internet. The justification for the choice of the object in question was given for several reasons. The first one, due to Novena always taking place in person until the arrival of COVID-19, promoting, after it, maintenance of the practice, reproducing exclusively online in the period 2020-2021. A second reason is due to the sociocultural impact of this object, as it is a religious exercise linked to the routine and religious tradition of Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro, patron saint of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. From the results obtained, we infer that the enunciative meanings of the novena transmitted online, in the aforementioned pandemic period, results, among several other meanings, in the evident almost presence of the presumed enunciate, in addition to evidencing a full and almost constant figurativization of the pandemic thematization in the in-between ritualistic practice.
