Semiotic elements applied in the RAP music

This article makes an analysis of the RAP songs through the concepts arisend from the french Semiotics. Our purpose is to mark some mechanism inserted into this kind of song that leads to the listener persuation, making him appreciate the lyrics and accept its content as true. To achieve our intention we chose seven RAP songs that resulted from a cultural project occurred in Santos, a town located in São Paulo estate - Brasil, between 1993/1994, the "Rádio RAP Móvel". In order of contextualizing the reader we present a short review of the RAP and the referred project, following that we discuss the Semiotics concepts that will support our work, and other more especifically related to the song to finally elaborate the lyrics analyses.Downloads
